What this solves
The Vegas pool landscape is layered and the rules change by month. There are dayclubs (party pools with DJs and bottle service), resort pools (calmer, hotel-guest-emphasis), and beach clubs (the rare ones open in cooler months). Visitors arrive in February expecting a party pool, get a fenced-off empty deck, and feel scammed. This calculator tells you, by month and by preference, what is actually open and what it costs to get in if you are not a hotel guest.
It also handles the "but the website says year-round" problem. Many resorts claim year-round pools but mean a 75°F unheated pool in December — which is technically open and practically empty.

Day-pass reality
Most resort pools sell day passes via ResortPass, HotelsByDay, or the hotel's own site. Weekend rates are 2–3× weekday. Encore Beach Club, Marquee Dayclub, and the larger pools typically do not sell day passes — they are tied to room nights, cabana rentals ($500–$2,500), or guest-list signup.
Heating reality
Heated pools in Vegas run 78–82°F year-round at properties like Wynn, Venetian, and the Four Seasons. Most "year-round" pools at mid-tier properties are unheated November–March, meaning 65–72°F water — cold enough that the pool is empty.
How to read the result
- Party dayclubs are the Encore Beach Club, Marquee Dayclub, Drai's Beachclub, AYU Dayclub, and LIV Beach. They run mid-March to mid-October with peak May–September. Winter = closed.
- Chill resort pools run year-round at most properties but pool deck amenities (bars, music, food service) often shut down November–March. The water is there; the vibe is not.
- Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM Grand is the only true year-round party pool, but it operates reduced days and is weather-permitting in winter.
- Hotel guest access is always free. Day passes are for non-guests and depend on occupancy — sold-out weekends mean "no day passes."
- Booking lead time: ResortPass slots for prime summer weekends open 30–60 days out and sell out by 9 AM on Wednesday before.
Limitations
- Venue opening dates are operator decisions that shift year to year. In 2026, Encore and Marquee are confirmed Mar–Oct. AYU Dayclub's 2026 schedule was not posted at this writing — reconfirm.
- Weather closures happen: a March cold snap can shut outdoor pools for 2–3 days. July monsoon lightning clears pools for 30–60 minutes at a time.
- Day-pass pricing for cabanas, beds, and bungalows varies wildly by event (residency DJ weekends vs. off-peak). The calculator uses base day-pass rates, not premium furniture pricing.
- The "party dayclub" experience changes depending on who else is there. A July 4th weekend at Encore is not the same as a Tuesday in May — same pool, different crowd.
- 21+ age restriction at most dayclubs (Encore, Marquee, Drai's, LIV, AYU). The Palm Tree Beach Club is 21+ except on family-friendly dates.
FAQ
Can I go to Encore Beach Club without a hotel room?
Usually no. EBC is one of the most exclusive pools on the Strip. Your realistic non-guest paths: book a cabana ($1,500–$3,000 midweek), get on a guest list via a promoter (free but unpredictable), or stay at the Encore even one night to unlock access for your stay dates.
Are Vegas pools heated in winter?
Premium properties (Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, Four Seasons, Waldorf) heat year-round. Most mid-tier properties claim "heated" but heat only the spa or the small pool, not the main resort pool. If a winter swim matters, call the property and confirm the specific pool is heated.
What's the cheapest way to access a Strip pool?
Stay at the hotel. A 1-night off-peak room at a mid-tier property with a good pool (MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Luxor) often costs less than a day pass for the same pool.
Is November still pool season?
For dayclubs: usually no — most close by mid-October. For resort pools: yes, but expect water in the high 60s°F unheated and reduced amenities. November is a transitional month; book at a heated-pool property.
